So It's week five of the Challenge and my kitchen has never been cleaner!! that's because it is the wild card goal this week and no other reason!! Perhaps I will turn over a new leaf and keep it this way from now on, but it's doubtful :) The one challenge I am having a hard time with (meaning I don't get it done everyday) is exercising for 60 min. 20 or even 30 min would be fine, but 60 just doesn't fit into the schedule. Once the kids wake up I pretty much have to wait until they go to bed to have an entire hour to do anything. But I think I've found a couple of solutions. I like to call it Laundry and Lunges, or cooking and Calisthenics, and my favorite is sit-ups and sitting(in a chair typing at the computer). I don't do this very often lest any of you think it's unfair, but trust me an hour of folding clothes and lunges( burn baby burn) and you'll feel it the next day. And did you ever think that if you just tighten your abs and lean back and forth, concentrating on the muscles and add a few twists every minute or so, for the same amount of time as you spend typing that 6 pack is bound to show up sooner or later. Add that to the walking that I actually get done and it's a great day for the body!! So as long as I get in some toning in I can spend the rest of the day keeping up with this one

Resolutionary Challenge 2001
So I finally caved (I just wanted to be like Meghan really) and joined the resolutionary Challenge 2011. It took me two weeks of thinking about it. Ten goals a day for 12 weeks. Can I do it, Yes I can. Most of it anyway. Already I have learned about myself that I don't really pay attention to what I'm doing through out the day. This week one of the goals was up by 7 and in bed by 11. As soon as I saw the challenge I knew it would be a bad one. Monday - Holiday (MLK)- 7 am on a holiday?. Thursday- book club- 11 pm just aint happen'n that night and Friday - date night with Kerry - if we hurry I just might make it.
I knew 7 am was going to be hard for me anyway. I'm so not a morning person, but I had no idea that 11 p.m. would be a challenge. I thought I went to bed earlier, but I guess getting ready for bed at 9:30 and going to bed aren't the same thing.Almost every night I hit the point where I only had ten minutes left and had no idea what happened to the time. No wonder I have spent the last 9 years of my life being so tired. I thought it was the kids this whole time. What a good thing for me to realize what it is I'm actually doing with my time. I definitely need to start paying more attention. If you are like me and can't figure out why time goes so quickly and your not getting anything done, maybe you should whittle down your list of things to do and set goals on which ones you really want to get done first. and if you can't find the motivation. Pay to be part of a group that sets goals and keep track. Then maybe you'll be motivated. It's hard to just waste good money. It has been a great thing for me. I'm eating better, exercising, getting my reading done and I'm even learning to play my new guitar!!(Thanks Mom)."London Bridges" or "This old man" anyone. I'll even sing it if you would like. I really should learn Old Macdonald then I could play along with Kylan. Here he is, if you can't tell what he is saying just listen for the animal sounds!

I didn't earn my stars
So Kylan was sick, He threw up first in the neighbors kitchen, then all over the car, then about 3-4 more times before bedtime which made for a very long night. The girls weren't doing what they were asked fast enough and even though Kerry came home and did the dishes first thing, I still lost my temper when I didn't get to go to book club like I wanted. (I did go later) I know I should have out grown throwing fits a long time ago but hey what can I say.
it is a great reminder of how we ought to be examples to our children and help keep them on the path to heaven. Unfortunately more often then not, my children have to remind me of the things we have taught them.
But how can you argue with "stars". So I guess I will just have to try harder. Maybe a LONG time out. I have a couple of books I've been wanting read lately. Do you think the kids would entertain themselves long enough if I told them I was grounded and couldn't come out of my room!! It's something to think about. And let me ask, have you earned your stars today?
